2012 findet die Luminale zum 6. Mal statt. Die Biennale der Lichtkultur ist dann zehn Jahre alt. Westermann Kommunikation hat das Konzept im Auftrag der Messe Frankfurt als Begleit-Veranstaltung zur Light+Building entwickelt und die Organisation des Festivals übernommen. Auch 2012 erfreut sich die Luminale, die inzwischen zu einem nicht mehr festen Termin im Veranstaltungskalender der Rhein-Main-Region gebracht hat, großer Beliebtheit.
